SHOPS AND SHOPPING CENTRES

Prior to the establishment of Dunn Architects, the principal, Russell Dunn, was employed in the retail design field. Over an eight year period  Russell was involved in the design and documentation of twenty three shopping centre extensions, a large number of shop fitouts and undertook many tenancy coordination roles.

Perhaps the most notable retail experience was Russell’s role as Project Architect on the $100 million extension to the Castle Towers Shopping Centre at Castle Hill, Sydney.

Client Manager/Regional Director, 1995 - 1997

Project management, including project programming, preparation and administration of budgets, tendering, contract preparation, chairing/minuting project meetings and progress payment certification.

Design, including interpretation of briefs, schematic design/retail planning and ongoing design overview through design development and contract documentation.

Project Architect through design development, construction documentation and contract administration phases of $90 million, fast-track additions and alterations to Castle Towers shopping centre, Castle Hill, NSW.

Project Architect for $1.5 million additions and alterations to shopping centre, Kogarah.

Concept design and retail  planning input for proposed $40 million refurbishment of Henderson Square shopping centre, Auckland.

Team leader for speciality retail component of $140 million refurbishment and additions to Grace Bros. store, Market street, Sydney.

Concept design input and DA documentation for $50 million shopping centre at former Grace Bros. site, Broadway, Sydney.
